The Name Bubbles Team wishes you and your family a wonderful 2013!
As we come to the end of another great year, the Name Bubbles Team has rounded up a Top 10 list of our favorites from 2012. From stylish to silly, our Top 10 of 2012 brings a smile to our face.
1) Alex and Ani
Rock one or stack twenty, these new trendy Alex and Ani bracelets have EVERY style you could possibly imagine. The girls in the office love the bracelets and I personally gave 3 as presents this holiday season and wear one daily myself.
2) Chevron Chic
“Whether for baby to snuggle up with or as an accent piece for the sofa, this mustard-colored chevron handmade blanket is top on my gift giving list. The crocheted style has been around forever, but with the zig zag design, this blanket has a modernized twist.” – Jenna Burger. Chevron style popped up everywhere this year, and we love it! As pillow, print, jewelry or baby room décor, – this design looks great in every color, and was launched as a style option as a part of Name Bubbles One Color Series
3) Designer Boutiques
They are impossible to ignore and harder still to resist, simply sign up for their newsletters and it won’t be long before you make your first purchase. If nothing else, you’ll find fabulous things to ‘pin’ on your House & Home board! It is definitely the year of the online designer boutique, and that means everything from the millions of shops on Etsy, the vintage finds on One Kings Lane or the timeless beauty of Joss & Main.
4) Family Command Center
We all have those days where the keys go missing, you forgot to charge the smart phone the night before and just remembered Suzy’s piano lesson is right after school. This year sure has been busy, but moms everywhere know how to keep it all organized, a Family Command Center. Our very own Bubble Blogger, Jenna Burger raves about this small space in your house that helps you keep a handle on everything.
5) Fresh Produce Delivery
In Upstate New York, we are lucky enough to have a handful of local farmers who offer produce delivery – right to your home or office. We would like to thank 9 Miles East, a local farm that delivered farm-fresh (picked that morning) vegetables to our office throughout the Summer and Fall. We looked forward to the Go-Bag delivery every week and collectively enjoyed cooking, canning and devouring the perfectly ripe tomatoes, squash, lettuce, fresh herbs and other seasonal surprises we found in our bags from week to week. Need help finding produce delivery in your neck of the woods? Enter Farmigo, a site that connects local farms with groups such as workplaces, schools and community centers for custom delivery subscriptions direct to a convenient community location.
6) Honest Diapers
Jessica Alba, Honest Company Founder, is the power-house behind Honest Diapers, an eco-mom must-have. “When I became a mom, I finally became the person I am, that I always should have been,” she says. “It’s the most satisfying job in the world. But, it can also be overwhelming and confusing. I created The Honest Company to help moms and to give all children a better, safer start.” – Jessica Alba, Honest Company
7) Improv Sewing
Nicole Blum, The Bubble Blog’s own Creatively Crafty blogger, has written a wonderfully simple, yet comprehensive, How-To Sew book Improv Sewing: A Freeform Approach to Creative Techniques; 101 Fast, Fun, and Fearless Projects: Dresses, Tunics, Scarves, Skirts, Accessories, Pillows, Curtains, and More Taking a free-form approach to sewing, Nicole and her co-author can teach anyone how to get started sewing and we think that’s sew fun! The London Olympics ‘wowed’ this past summer, and we (along with the rest of the world) were glued to the screen for two solid weeks. Who could forget key moments like the Queen skydiving in the opening ceremony, and USA’s Gabby Douglas taking all-around Olympic gold in gymnastics.
